Products from our trip to Lofoten
Our recent trip to Lofoten with the X10 reinforced the necessity of carrying the appropriate equipment when out in adverse weather conditions. Consequently, we have compiled a list of the top products from the trip.
1. Sail Racing Reference Pro
In light of our experience with Sail Racing products over the past few years, we have decided to add our logo as a mark of approval. In addition to being waterproof and windproof, the Reference Pro Jacket and Pants feature excellent breathability, making it the perfect set to carry along.
2. New Goggles
It has been several years since we introduced the Goldfish branded goggles manufactured by Marker, and we decided it was time for an upgrade this season. This new generation of goggles features a wider field of vision than its predecessor, which increases peripheral vision. In addition, they are more comfortable on the face, which is beneficial when traveling in bad weather for long periods of time.
3. Boat Boots
The Norwegian brand Boat Boot has been a team favorite for some time now. Our experience with these boots has been very positive, with their breathability and non-slip rubber soles making movement on wet surfaces a breeze. During our trip to Lofoten, we thoroughly tested the boots and rated them excellent.
4. Lifejacket D6
The Spinlock D6 is an excellent choice for a multi-day trip, as we experianced in Lofoten. It is lightweight and comfortable, making it extremely easy to wear at all times.
5. AIS Beacon
Among our favorite safety products is the Amec TB-520 AIS Beacon. Easily attach the beacon to your lifejacket and a distress signal will be sent along with your GPS location to nearby vessels and coast guards.
6. Lupine Headlamp
There were times during our trip to Lofoten, that we had to navigate through darkness. Having a reliable and powerful headlamp such as the Lupine Penta proved to be a lifesaver. It is easy to store and works in any weather conditions.
7. Storage Pauch
Among the smart accessories for this season is the Storage pouch. The pouch is equipped with Velcro stickers for easy attachment to any flat surface on our boats. As a result, you can store things that require easy access in a more convenient manner.
8. Duffel Bag
Having a place to store all equipment is essential when traveling for several days. Before departing for Lofoten, we packed all our equipment in duffel bags to remain organized. This was to prevent unnecessary damage to the boat due to things bouncing during rough seas.
